Russian military personnel primarily use drones in the tactical unit to solve reconnaissance, strike, and transport tasks, said the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Belousov.
According to him, unmanned systems of air, ground, and sea basing have been widely developed. At the same time, UAVs are used as means of combat and network information exchange. Their role in modern conflicts is so high that a decision was made to form unmanned systems troops in the Russian Armed Forces, the minister added.
Belousov also said that the defense department purchased more than 100 thousand products for various purposes from small design bureaus and civilian manufacturers.
Thanks to the work of the technical council of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, about 30 high-tech independent teams have been formed, capable of producing serial products and solving promising tasks.
