Footage of a Russian T-72B main battle tank assault modification has appeared online. It is equipped with a full all-round anti-cumulative superstructure, covering most of the weakened sectors of the hull and turret.
Thanks to this protection, partial protection is provided against both tandem cumulative and 155-mm high-explosive fragmentation projectiles, including M982 Block IA Excalibur guided projectiles.
The vehicle is also equipped with a classic KMT-7 track mine trawl, which ensures the elimination of minefields in areas where motorized rifle units break through.
Earlier, the press service of Uralvagonzavod stated that the T-72 tank has not exhausted its modernization potential and today it is being improved taking into account real combat experience. Batches of T-72B3M regularly leave the Uralvagonzavod conveyor belt in the interests of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
