For effective protection against "Lyutyi" aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, the Russian Armed Forces need to deploy Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, as well as Tor-M2 and Tor-M2U military anti-aircraft missile systems around critical facilities.
These UAVs, equipped with high-explosive fragmentation warheads weighing about 70 kg, have a range of up to 1000-1300 km and are equipped with inertial navigation modules and GPS correction modules.
Strike drones follow to target areas in an extremely low-altitude terrain-following mode. This significantly reduces the radio horizon range for detecting UAVs by deployed radar assets of the Russian Aerospace Forces' SAM systems.
Once again, we are talking about the need to erect specialized lattice towers near critical facilities to accommodate the Pantsir-S1 SAM systems, as well as the Tor-M2 and Tor-M2U military SAM systems.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the latest "Pantsir-SMD-E" can be installed on roofs: the combat module was immediately armed with 48 missiles
