“Green” Models of Rocket Engines Tested in Chelyabinsk

Samples of device chambers were created using computer modeling

New small-thrust rocket engines developed by NPO Energomash have been tested at the South Ural State University. The university's press service reported this.

The rocket engines run on fuel that includes “green” components — oxygen with methane or hydrogen. Experts note that the use of such fuel components is an important step towards environmentally friendly technologies in space. The tests demonstrated the high efficiency of the development.

Samples of the new engine chambers were created using computer modeling. An innovative laser selective fusion technology was used to manufacture important parts. This method made it possible to speed up the production process.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the latest marine gas turbine engines will be developed for Russian ships.
