Cosmonauts Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Wagner at the International Space Station (ISS) have completed fitting their Orlan-MKS spacesuits in preparation for their upcoming spacewalk, scheduled for December 19. This will be their first and only spacewalk during the six-month expedition.
During the preparation, the cosmonauts checked the equipment, tools, and onboard equipment, ensuring they were in good working order to perform tasks during extravehicular activity (EVA).
During the upcoming spacewalk, Ovchinin and Wagner will install the SPIN-X1-MVN X-ray spectrometer on the external surface of the Zvezda module. This device will allow for regular research in the X-ray range and perform a survey of the celestial sphere.
