Iran has purchased 25 "Spartak" ("VPK-Ural") armored vehicles from the Russian company "VPK." The authorities of the Islamic Republic are considering the possibility of localizing production, writes Defence blog.
The commander of the Law Enforcement Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (LEFIRI), Ahmad Reza Radan, inspected the Spartak ("VPK-Ural") armored vehicle produced by the Russian company "VPK." They will probably be deployed in areas bordering Pakistan.
«VPK-Ural» , developed by the Russian company "VPK" in partnership with the UAE-based Streit Group, is built on the chassis of a two-axle all-wheel drive Ural-53099 truck. Streit Group sells the car under the name Condor.
The "Spartak" was first introduced in 2019. The developers used Russian components, including a YaMZ engine with a capacity of 360 hp.
