The Chepetsky Mechanical Plant (part of Rosatom State Corporation) has launched the production of titanium powders for 3D printing. The creation of materials is based on selective laser melting technology. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
Spherical powders ranging in size from 20 to 63 μm are produced at ChMP from its own raw materials. The spherical shape ensures the high quality of products obtained by 3D printing, and the technological capabilities of the enterprise for the production of powder fractions of various sizes will be able to meet the needs of the widest possible range of customers.
It is worth noting that previously Russian manufacturers used foreign analogues for printing. The new powders can be used in the automotive, medical, aerospace industries and energy.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rosatom has begun to complete testing of the new fuel.
