In 2025, AvtoVAZ plans to start producing updated Lada Niva models with a new 8-valve engine producing 90 hp. The Niva Travel model will be the first to receive the updated engine, and later it will also be installed on the Niva Legend.
Currently, both versions of the Niva are equipped with a 1.7-liter engine producing 83 hp, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. The new engine will have a volume of 1.8 liters and a power of 90 hp, which provides a small increase compared to the previous version. The engine will have an 8-valve configuration, which, according to experts, will allow achieving a torque of 151 Nm.
It is assumed that the engine will be similar to the one previously produced by the company "Super-Avto." This update will improve traction at high gears and improve the overall performance of the car.
