Moscow authorities have decided not to increase the number of traffic cameras. Instead, they will modernize them. We tell you what functionality they want to "add" to the cameras.
The idea of the capital's officials is that each camera should record more violations. The modernization will begin with the cameras being connected to the ОСАГО verification system. It is planned that the increase in functionality will affect the growth of штрафов collection.
Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov said that Moscow will also abandon camera dummies. They were hung to intimidate drivers. According to Kadakov, the head of the Moscow Department of Transport, Maxim Liksutov, said that a high-quality dummy is not much cheaper than a full-fledged camera. This is because radar detectors must react to the pseudo-camera. Officials believe that it is better to immediately install a real camera and avoid half measures.
