The idea of the capital's officials is that each camera should record more violations. The modernization will begin with the fact that cameras will begin to connect to the OSAGO verification system. It is planned that the increase in functionality will affect the growth of fine collection.
Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov said that Moscow will also abandon camera dummies. They were hung to intimidate drivers. According to Kadakov, the head of the Moscow Department of Transportation, Maxim Liksutov, said that a high-quality dummy is not much cheaper than a full-fledged camera. This is because radar detectors must react to the pseudo-camera. Officials believe that it is better to immediately install a real camera and avoid half measures.
