Western countries underestimate the capabilities of Russian nuclear multipurpose submarines (NPS) of Project 885M "Yasen-M" armed with hypersonic anti-ship missiles "Zircon". This view is held by the authors of the American publication The National Interest (TNI).
They noted that the "Yasen" is armed with "Zircon" missiles, which are capable of effectively overcoming any missile defense system. The key advantages of the submarine itself include its low noise.
"Yasen" may be the quietest submarine in its class. These characteristics allow the submarine to avoid detection, travel long distances, and inflict "almost biblical-level destruction" on the target.
