Western countries underestimate the capabilities of Russian nuclear multipurpose submarines (NPS) of Project 885M "Yasen-M" armed with hypersonic anti-ship missiles "Zircon". This point of view is held by the authors of the American edition The National Interest (TNI).
They noted that "Yasen" is armed with "Zircon" missiles, which are capable of effectively overcoming any missile defense system. The key advantages of the submarine itself include its low noise.
"Yasen" may be the quietest submarine in its class. These characteristics allow the submarine to avoid detection, travel long distances and inflict "destruction of almost biblical proportions" on the target.
