The diesel-electric submarine B-588 "Ufa" of Project 636 code "Varshavyanka" of the Pacific Fleet made a business call at the port of Qingdao, People's Republic of China.
For several days in the Chinese port, Russian sailors will hold a series of meetings with representatives of the Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China, visit the Academy of Submarine Navigation of the PLA Navy, and also visit local attractions.
Earlier, a detachment of Pacific Fleet ships, consisting of the corvettes "Gromkiy", "Rezky", "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and the tanker "Pechenga", completed a business call at the port of Qingdao.
The crews of the ships took part in cultural and sports events. The commanders of the fleet's ships held meetings with representatives of the command of the Northern Fleet of the People's Liberation Army of China and the administration of Qingdao.
The submarines of the project are distinguished by the range of target detection and acoustic stealth, powerful missile and torpedo weapons. The main strike weapon is high-precision "Caliber" missiles.
