Раскрыта тайна мощных хлопков в небе при запуске «Кинжала»: их ошибочно считали звуками работы ПВО

The Whole Reason Is in the Shock Compression Wave

Video footage of launches of Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" hypersonic aeroballistic missiles has appeared online. Some commentators were alarmed by the powerful claps and contrails in the airspace above the region, mistakenly identifying them as the operation of air defense systems.

However, unlike the inclined or vertically oriented contrails of anti-aircraft guided missiles, these are inclined and horizontal trails originating and terminating in the stratosphere at altitudes of 15 to 35 km, which indicates the aeroballistic type of trajectory of the "Kinzhal" missiles launched from the MiG-31K.

As for the claps, they came from the Kh-47M2 "Kinzhal" exceeding the speed of sound (1062.36 km/h) and continuing to accelerate to more than 10-12 times the speed of sound. All supersonic objects are followed by a conical shock compression wave, which is the clap.
