Roskomnadzor (RKN) has confirmed information about conducting exercises in case Runet is disconnected from the global network due to external influence. This was reported by the press service of the agency.
The purpose of the exercises is to confirm the readiness of the Russian Internet infrastructure to ensure the availability of key foreign and Russian services in the event of a deliberate external impact.
It is worth noting that theexercises took place at the end of last week. They are held annually to verify compliance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated October 12, 2019. The schedule of exercises is agreed with the Ministry of Digital Development and the FSB of Russia.
During the exercises, in conjunction with telecom operators, the effectiveness of the key replacement infrastructure is identified in the event of a deliberate disconnection from the outside of the Russian segment of the Internet, and information systems are identified whose operability depends on communication with services, libraries and other resources located in foreign communication networks.
