"Rosoboronexport" has revealed the characteristics of the "Strelets" combat gear sets (KBS) from "Triada-TKO" (part of the "Kalashnikov" concern). Russian military personnel have been receiving them since December 2023, but the details about the features of the "Strelets" KBS have only been revealed now.
The "Strelets" KBS in full configuration covers 70% of the soldier's body, or 135 square decimeters.
The kit includes a "Corset plus" body armor with a weight distribution system and belt. Shoulder and side adapters with a fastex buckle allow the body armor to be put on without removing the helmet, and the corset system with the design of supporting guides allows the belt to be detached from the body armor very quickly if necessary. The body armor itself can be quickly dropped through the unbuckling system on the wearer's shoulders if necessary.
The bullet resistance of the "Strelets" KBS is provided by two Br 5 class plates on the chest and back - it can withstand a 7.62x54 mm R bullet with a steel heat-strengthened core.
The body armor is equipped with additional protection modules in areas that are difficult to provide first aid. There is protection for the neck, shoulder pads, groin protector with abdominal module and apron, thigh pads, and armored shorts.
These modules contain anti-splinter armor elements, providing protection class Br 1 and C 2. Such significant armor protection is due to the fact that 70% of injuries in modern combat conditions are caused by shrapnel, and additional modules can help avoid them. The design of the module mounts allows them to be put on and removed without removing the main body armor.
The total weight of the "Strelets" KBS falls on the belt and hips, which allows for greater combat effectiveness of the soldier and comfortable load distribution. The kit can be worn with both winter and summer uniforms and adapts to any task: from patrolling in a plate carrier to assault tasks in full configuration.
The kit also includes four universal pouches for automatic rifle magazines, a universal pouch for a pistol magazine, two pouches for hand grenades, a pouch for a radio, a second-level medical pouch plus a pouch for a tourniquet, an administrative pouch for important documents, two utility pouches with holders, a dump pouch, a gas mask pouch, and a pouch for a small infantry shovel.
The "Strelets" KBS also includes a separate T30 tactical backpack with a volume of 30 liters. To carry the entire kit, soldiers are provided with a T120 duffel bag with a volume of 120 liters.
