Rostec's "Forecasting" module will be able to predict natural disasters

The system recognizes the origins of storms, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions

The "Roselectronica" holding (part of Rostec) has developed the "Forecasting" software module based on artificial intelligence (AI), which recognizes the origins of storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and other natural disasters. This was reported by the holding's press service.

The complex analyzes the following factors:

  • land and sea surface temperature
  • air flow velocity
  • speed of movement of the earth's crust, ice, snow

AI predicts the likely trajectory of their path. According to Alexey Nikitin, General Director of the Television Research Institute, the "Forecasting" module does not replace a meteorologist, but helps in his work. "Roselectronica" is expected to begin supplying the system to customers by the end of 2024.
