«Росэлектроника» поставила детали для первого в мире синхротрона поколения 4+ «СКИФ»

The device will allow studying the process of laser welding of materials and much more

Kovylkino Electromechanical Plant (part of Ruselectronics) has supplied special waveguide paths for the world's first 4+ generation synchrotron "SKIF". With the help of the Siberian Ring Photon Source (SKIF), it will be possible to study the propagation of a shock wave, the spatial structure of virus proteins, the process of laser welding of materials, and much more.

This will allow creating new composite materials, medicines, and energy sources. For each such path, an electromagnetic field with a continuous power of up to 150 kW and a frequency of 357 MHz is transmitted from the power amplifier to the resonator.

Resonators allow the electron beam to maintain a speed close to the speed of light. Waveguides are designed for the SKIF storage ring. In this ring, electron beams fly in a circle, guided by a magnetic field, and form synchrotron radiation, which is then fed to user stations.

Earlier www1.ru reported that young scientists created a substance that slows down the corrosion of implants by 90%.
