Mandatory labeling of lubricants and special automotive fluids in the "Chestny Znak" system has been approved by the Russian government. All participants in the circulation of these goods must be registered in the information system from March 1 next year. Journalist Maxim Kadakov drew attention to this. According to him, oil labeling will begin on September 1, 2025.
Less than a month has passed since the proposal to introduce mandatory oil labeling. I then suggested that the experiment would be recognized as successful. And so it happened.
The auto journalist is sure that mandatory oil labeling will not solve the problem of counterfeiting. The point is that the movement of goods will be tracked, not its quality. Kadakov emphasizes that the introduction of labeling will affect the rise in the price of oil. True, only by a few percent.
The auto expert believes that small players will soon leave the automotive oil market. It will be unprofitable for them to label products. High-quality oil, but imported through "gray" imports, will disappear with them. And after that, key brands may start adjusting prices. This cannot be ruled out either.
