What does the inside of Russia's first hydrogen train look like?: TMH publishes interior renders of the locomotive

The train will be put on rails in 2028

In September 2024, Transmashholding (TMH) presented the concept of a hydrogen train — the first passenger train in Russia on hydrogen fuel cells. Now the manufacturer has shown the interior design of the locomotive. This was reported by the TMH press service.

The train will be equipped with modern video surveillance and communication systems "passenger — driver", as well as information displays and sockets. For the convenience of cyclists and electric scooter owners, special places will be provided. Lifts for wheelchairs will be installed in the head car, and places for disabled people will be provided in the cabin.

The interior of the hydrogen train will be made in an eco-friendly style using shades of natural materials and modern color-texture solutions. The passenger compartment will be equipped with ergonomic seats and wide inter-car transitions.

The driver's cab will also be designed with comfort in mind. It will be equipped with household electrical appliances and curtains to protect from sunlight.

The train will be presented in two versions — with two head cars and a booster section, as well as with three cars, including an intermediate one. The train's range will vary depending on the design and operating conditions. For a three-car train — 487 km on hydrogen and 40 km on energy storage devices, and for a two-car train — 725 km and 80 km, respectively.

The first sample of the hydrogen train will appear in 2025. Regular transportation will begin in 2028 in Sakhalin, where the Eastern Hydrogen Cluster has already been created.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the first Russian hydrogen train will be 80% domestic.
