During exercises in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) and the Navy conducted joint launches of high-precision air- and sea-based missiles, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
Operating as part of the Russian Navy strike group, the crews of the frigates "Admiral Golovko" and "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" fired hypersonic "Tsirkon" missiles, while the diesel-electric submarine "Novorossiysk" launched a "Kalibr" cruise missile at a naval target position.
Additionally, on the Mediterranean coast, the crew of the "Bastion" coastal missile system conducted a combat launch of an "Onyx" cruise missile.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Tor-M2 SAM system received new 9M338K anti-aircraft missiles with an increased range.
