The Russian fifth-generation Su-57E fighter jet, due to its characteristics and ability to compete with modern Western aircraft, is the best solution for the Indian Air Force. This opinion was expressed in the journal "National Defense."
Experts recalled that India is among the four most powerful countries in the world in terms of aggregate military potential and the size of the Armed Forces. At the same time, the available arsenals of weapons, military and special equipment (WMSE) are 45% represented by obsolete models.
In view of the impending generational change, the most logical and correct step for Delhi would be to accept Moscow's offer for the next generation aircraft — the Su-57E fifth-generation multirole fighter.
Analysts emphasized that India has historically adhered to a balanced approach in matters of defense spending, purchasing the best models of WMSE abroad and developing its own military industry.
The Russian Su-57 is capable of using guided high-precision weapons with low visibility to detection equipment. The machine has internal armament, supersonic cruising speed, radio-absorbing coating (stealth technology), as well as the latest complex of onboard equipment.
