Путин подписал закон о расширении действия полиса ОСАГО на Белоруссию

The law will come into force on January 1, 2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a law that provides for the extension of the OSAGO policy issued in Russia to the territory of Belarus. The document is published on the official legal information portal.

As a result, Russian motorists, if necessary, will be able to issue an OSAGO policy that will also be valid in the neighboring republic, within the framework of the insurance system of the Union State.

Such policies can be issued by companies that have a permanent location in one of the SG countries where the car is registered. The law will come into force on January 1, 2025.

The Russian authorities hope that this will simplify car trips to Belarus, including for travelers and business people.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a new unified OSAGO policy for Russia and Belarus will come into effect on January 1, 2025. However, its full launch is scheduled for the first quarter of next year, when the integration of information systems is completed.

Drivers of border regions who often cross the border, and road carriers will be able to use this policy instead of the usual "Blue Card". Nevertheless, for one-time trips abroad, it is still more profitable to purchase a "Blue Card", which allows you to stay abroad for a short time, without the need to issue long-term insurance.

As a reminder, in 2025, the "Gosuslugi" portal plans to launch a new service that will remind users about the expiration date of the OSAGO policy.
