The peaceful sky of Russia from threats at short and medium range is protected by several anti-aircraft systems at once. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
The first element is the Gibka-S self-propelled anti-aircraft complex on the Tigr chassis with two Igla-S or Verba launchers with a radius of action of up to 5.5-6 km. It is synchronized with the reconnaissance and control vehicle of the commander of the anti-aircraft platoon, equipped with the Garmon radar as the main means of target designation.
The second is the modernized Pantsir-SM SAM system with 5.7-Mach two-stage 57E6M SAMs with a range of up to 40 km and target engagement speeds of up to 7200 km/h, small-sized highly maneuverable 19Ya6 SAMs for repelling massive attacks by kamikaze UAVs, as well as rockets and barrel artillery shells.
Another system is the four-channel Tor-M2K short-range military air defense system, equipped with 9M331D SAMs, but in the foreseeable future it will be re-equipped with small-sized highly maneuverable 8M338K SAMs with available overloads of up to 40 units and an initial speed of up to 1000 m/s.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the ZALA Z16 UAV assassin, invisible to electronic warfare, has become the main friend of artillery and pilots at the front.
