Russian deeply improved Su-34NVO fighter jets have unveiled no more than 25% of their potential. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He pointed out that the bomber's weapon control systems have software and hardware adaptation for the use of OFAB-250/500/1500M-54/62 planning guided aerial bombs, as well as UODAB-500 thermobaric bombs, equipped with universal planning and correction modules UMPC with updated interference-protected antenna modules GLONASS-correction "Comet-R8".
In the future, the aircraft will be equipped with container complexes of radar (UKR-RL), optoelectronic (UKR-OE) and radio-technical (UKR-RT) reconnaissance of the "Sych" line for issuing target designation to fire weapons and surface reconnaissance of enemy target objects.
The UKR-RT and UKR-RL complexes are of the greatest operational and tactical importance. UKR-RL has the prospect of functioning in the "air-to-air" mode, performing the functions of AWACS with a target detection range with an RCS m² of up to 250 km.
The UKR-RL complex will provide all-weather monitoring of the enemy's rear areas for the deployment of long-range rocket artillery, as well as PzH-2000 self-propelled guns equipped with Vulcano shells with a range of up to 65 km.
