The National Atomic Energy Authority of Hungary has approved the preliminary safety report of the Paks-2 NPP project by Rosatom State Corporation. The next step is pouring concrete into the foundation of the station, according to Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Péter Szijjártó.
The National Atomic Energy Authority has approved the preliminary safety report of the future Paks-2 nuclear power plant. The approval of the preliminary safety report means that we have received permission to pour the so-called first concrete into the foundation of the Paks-2 NPP. This is one of the most important milestones in the construction of a nuclear facility.
Earlier, Péter Szijjártó said that the first pouring of concrete into the foundation of the station is planned for January or February 2025. Currently, excavation is underway in the pits under the two power units to a depth of up to 23 m, and 35 thousand of the 75 thousand piles have already been installed. In turn, Rosatom has begun construction of the reactor building.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the first reactor of the Akkuyu NPP will be launched during 2025.
