Military analyst Sergei Marzhetsky expressed the opinion that the naval border guards of the Russian army, like the land border guards, should be reorganized according to the military principle and be ready at any moment to transfer to the direct command of the Russian Navy command.
According to him, the shipbuilding industry is capable of producing 3rd rank coastal zone border patrol ships of Project 10410 Svetlyak serially and quickly.
With a displacement of 375 tons, this border patrol boat can reach speeds of up to 29 knots, and in case of emergency, up to 33 knots. The PSKR built in St. Petersburg were armed with 1 x AK-176M 76-mm, 1 x AK-630M 30-mm, 16 x Igla MANPADS and 2 MRG-1 or DP-64 grenade launchers.
The "Svetlyachok" was a hybrid of a small anti-submarine ship and a high-speed patrol boat, which the Russian Navy lacks so much.
The modernized Project 10411 was even supposed to carry two quadruple launchers of Uran anti-ship missiles, but it was not mass-produced. Alas, as this series developed, it was subjected to a lightening of its armament.
The analyst added that it would be more rational to return to the modernized Svetlyak project, code 10412 Triglav, built in a single copy for the Slovenian Navy for export.
It carries artillery mounts of the AK-630M and AK-176M types, two six-barreled 30-mm AK-306M artillery mounts, two 14.5-mm naval pedestal machine gun mounts and the Shturm-V missile system, up to 6 shipborne 3M-47 Gibka complexes with Igla-1M MANPADS or 16 Igla MANPADS.
