The TOS-3 "Dragon" heavy flamethrower system surpasses previous TOS modifications in combat power. Journalists from the American publication The National Interest acknowledged the advantages of the system.
They noted that the "Dragon" can launch incendiary projectiles up to 24 km or far beyond the line of sight.
The flamethrower system is built on the chassis of a T-72 tank, which provides good protection for the crew.
The TOS received a block of guides for 15 thermobaric projectiles. At the point of impact, such ammunition forms a cloud of flame with a temperature of up to 3000 degrees, which damages buildings, manpower, and equipment.
Currently, "Dragon" can be equipped with advanced 220-mm TBS-3M rockets with a range of 15 km.
The vehicle received an advanced automated guidance and fire control system, providing quick transition to combat position, fire operation, and instant transition to the stowed position.
