Comeback: "Odnoklassniki" audience grew for the first time in five years

The number of active users increased by 1.5%, reaching 36 million people per month

The social network "Odnoklassniki" showed audience growth for the first time in five years: the number of active users per month increased by 1.5%, to 36 million people. This follows from the reporting of VK for the third quarter of 2024. The growth was made possible thanks to integration with "VK Video", the introduction of new functions and attracting users who previously viewed video content anonymously.

VK reported that its revenue for the quarter increased by 19% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 39.4 billion rubles. The growth in income is explained by the development of VK Cloud cloud services and VK WorkSpace business tools. Revenue of the "Technologies for Business" segment increased by 60.1% year-on-year.

However, experts have different assessments of the success of "Odnoklassniki". Some see this as potential for further development, especially against the backdrop of the deteriorating performance of YouTube in Russia. Others consider the increase statistically insignificant and do not yet see signs of a sustainable trend.

The social network remains popular among users over 55 years old, especially in the regions. In 2025, the platform plans to launch a dating service, which may further increase audience engagement.

VK shares fell by 13.4 rubles by the end of the trading day against the background of the publication of reports, although they showed a brief increase at the opening.
