After cooperation with AvtoVAZ failed, FAW is looking for a new site to assemble cars in Russia. This was announced by Li Yunzhun, General Director of the company's office in Eastern Europe, at the "Sprouts" forum in Kazan.
He stressed that the Volga region is a priority region for the new site, which suggests that production will be located at the AvtoVAZ facilities in Togliatti.
According to the top manager, assembling cars in Russia will allow the company to partially compensate for the costs of the recycling fee and, as a result, reduce the final prices for products.
As www1.ru previously reported, the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, expressed sincere interest in cooperation with China. He noted that he had been to FAW factories and was impressed by the level of their modern production.
As a reminder, in October this year, Russians spent a record amount on the purchase of new cars — 542 billion rubles. This is 60% more than in the same period last year. Residents of Russia bought almost 100,000 new Chinese cars in a month. Haval was the leader.
