The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), a military-industrial holding, has manufactured a 500-kilogram shield with a bas-relief of the Russian Federation coat of arms for a ship of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was reported by the holding's press service.
The 3D model of the shield and the tooling for casting were developed in the KMZ design bureau.
The shield, with a diameter of more than 2 meters, is cast by gravity casting in a cold-setting mixture at the "Nazia" production site.
The brass alloy shield will be sent to the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center. From there, it will be transferred to replace the USSR symbols.
