An index for determining the level of ethics of artificial intelligence systems in medicine has appeared in Russia. Its creators from the HSE University believe that it will make it easier to introduce AI technologies into medical practice.
Scientists have identified key ethical principles. These include autonomy, beneficence, justice, non-harm, and patient care. After interacting with doctors and AI developers, an ethics index was created. This is a test with closed questions. It is aimed at developers of medical systems with AI and users of these software products.
Scientists believe that the index will be useful for the medical community. Professor Anastasia Ugleva of the HSE University explained that doctors are concerned about the possible negative ethical consequences of the widespread use of AI in medicine.
