The Russian Aerospace Forces have begun to actively use the new guided bombs "Grom-E1". The range of the ammunition is about 120 km thanks to the built-in rocket engine, said David Axe, an analyst at the British newspaper The Telegraph.
According to him, these bombs allow strikes from Su-34 and Su-30 fighters, while remaining out of reach for most air defense systems.
The Grom-E1 universal guided missile with satellite guidance provides high-precision engagement of a wide range of ground and surface targets with known coordinates.
Characteristics of the Grom-E1 bomb:
- Starting weight — 594 kg
- Warhead weight — 315 kg
- Maximum launch range — 120 km
- Guidance system type — inertial + satellite
- Warhead type — high-explosive fragmentation
- Fuze type — contact
