Since the beginning of 2024, personal data of more than 600 million Russians has appeared online. Over the nine months of 2024, Roskomnadzor recorded 110 cases of personal information leaks.
In the 9 months of 2024, Roskomnadzor recorded 110 cases of databases containing more than 600 million records being distributed on the Internet.
In October alone, the agency identified 13 cases of unauthorized access to the database, resulting in the compromise of more than 9.7 million records. In February, Roskomnadzor registered 19 cases of personal data leaks, resulting in more than 510 million records containing information about Russian citizens being leaked online.
As a reminder, at the beginning of the year, hackers published over 110 million records with Russians' personal data. This includes 324 thousand email addresses and 274.9 thousand phone numbers, among other data.
Earlier, Russians were warned that hackers have data with information on almost everyone. Attackers sell the obtained data. They try to profit from every information leak.
