В России разработали инновационную призматическую солнечную электростанцию

Its main difference is the vertical installation of solar panels

A team of scientists from the Altai State Technical University named after I. I. Polzunov has created a unique solar power plant that can significantly increase the efficiency of energy production in a limited area. This development is ideal for use in urban environments and at low power.

Unlike traditional solar power plants, the new design features vertical panels that form a prism shape. Thanks to this, all four sides of the power plant can effectively use sunlight to generate energy throughout the day. The installation is compact, which allows it to be placed in a small area, for example, in a dense urban environment.

Due to the fact that the solar panels are placed not in a horizontal, but in a vertical plane, the area required for the placement of the power plant is significantly reduced.
stated in the patent

The solar power plant can be used in various fields, including providing energy to remote facilities and urban areas where it is difficult to install solar panels. This project is a way to improve energy supply in a changing climate and weather.

Earlier in St. Petersburg, new solar batteries were developed. The thickness of the batteries is several microns. They will reduce the cost of solar cells due to the possibility of reusing the substrate.

Also in Russia, work is underway on universal solar batteries for the Arctic. They are planned to be used for the development of both extremely cold regions and for operation in extremely hot climates, where modern batteries cannot function.
