Niger Buys Three Satellites from Roscosmos for Security

Glavkosmos Will Handle the Delivery of Spacecraft

The authorities of Niger and Glavkosmos (a subsidiary of the Roscosmos State Corporation) have signed an agreement for the purchase of 3 satellites. The spacecraft are needed for communication, remote sensing of the Earth, and as a radar for solving defense and security tasks.

The agreement states that 3 satellites will be deployed to ensure the security of the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States: Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. The manufacture of the satellites will take about 4 years.

During this period, Glavkosmos will provide Niger with equipment for rent. Russia will also help with the training of specialists in the management of spacecraft.
