A competence center for assembling unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and training drone operators has opened in Yekaterinburg. At this center, students of the Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University will be trained in preparing flight documentation, navigating meteorological and aeronautical conditions, selecting and calculating drone alignment taking into account suspended equipment, and assessing take-off and landing sites.
To accelerate the process of mastering drone control, students will be provided with a simulator with realistic FPV drone flight physics. Using a control panel, special glasses, and computer programs, the simulator will simulate altitude and speed gain. Teachers emphasize that individual perception of altitude and reaction to flight conditions vary from person to person, so training on the simulator will help avoid damage to drones that could crash during training on real devices.
We have managed to integrate production technologies into the educational process, which is the essence of vocational pedagogical education. Developing competencies in the field of UAS is a crucial area for the region, which will be in high demand
Students will be able to start learning how to work with UAS from their first year, mastering drone operation skills as part of project activities. Throughout their studies, they will develop their competencies, taking into account the wishes of potential employers, which will allow graduates to be prepared for the requirements of the emerging industry.
