Искусственный интеллект не дотягивает до уровня оператора дрона: БПЛА-подразделениям не хватает бойцов

FPV drone control is different from a computer game

Russia is increasing the production of various types of drones, including FPV drones. The need for UAV operators remains extremely high, since there are not so many qualified specialists, and training newcomers takes time. FPV drone control is different from a computer game, as pointed out by military expert Andrei Mitrofanov.

The expert recalled that, according to the drone manufacturer «Ovod», 6 partner sites in the Russian Federation can produce up to 50 thousand FРV drones «Ovod» per month. This is up to 600 thousand drones of this type per year.

It can be assumed that, if decisions are made and appropriate funding is available, more than a million FРV drones can be produced in Russia per year.

In his opinion, all drone production operations can be robotized, from the manufacture of printed circuit boards to the packaging of finished products. However, the question of who will aim these UAVs at targets has not yet been resolved.

Many drone manufacturers talk about the introduction of an intelligent guidance system. On the one hand, UAVs can self-guide to the target on the final section of the flight path, on the other hand, they are not yet able to independently search for targets to attack.

Existing guidance systems and AI currently clearly do not reach the level of human efficiency
Andrei Mitrofanov, military expert

The expert called for training UAV operators from school. This will help solve the personnel problem, he concluded.
