Achievements of the Russian engineering school: an exhibition on the history of Tu-144, Tu-214, Il-76 opened in St. Petersburg

Visitors to the exhibition will see models of aircraft from the Ilyushin and Tupolev Design Bureaus

The exhibition "Polytechnic Museum: Creating the Present", dedicated to 140 outstanding Soviet engineers and inventors, has opened in the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" in St. Petersburg. The central place of the exposition is occupied by the "Flight" block, the UAC press service reported.

The exhibition presents more than 200 unique items from the collection of the Polytechnic Museum. Many exhibits have not been exhibited for several decades. The exhibition is divided into 8 thematic blocks.

The "Flight" block presents the history of the Tu-144 supersonic passenger airliner. Among the exhibits, you can see models of Tu-160 and Tu-214 aircraft, as well as aerosleighs developed at the Tupolev Design Bureau.

Here you can also see exhibits of the Ilyushin Design Bureau. This is a model of the Il-18 aircraft propeller, wing elements, models for wind tunnel tests: Il-103, Il-76 and Il-86. The exhibition will be open until February 9, 2025.
