Rosstandart has approved amendments to GOST regulating the work of private security companies (PSC) on school grounds, according to the head of the agency, Anton Shalaev.
The changes come into force on January 1, 2025. The new requirements apply to PSC employees working at preschool, general education, and vocational education organizations.
Guards will be required to undergo additional physical training in case of an attack or emergency. Under normal conditions, they will carry handcuffs and a rubber baton.
If the regional authorities introduce a heightened alert regime, PSC employees will receive body armor, helmets, and service weapons. To do this, they must obtain the appropriate license.
