Thanks to the cooperation agreement between the military-industrial complexes of Russia and Iran, there will be a continuous exchange of critical technologies with the localization of production in the territories of both states. This was stated by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He noted that Russian engineers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the design features of Iranian Almas-3 anti-tank missiles, equipped with multispectral optoelectronic homing heads for operation from closed firing positions.
The production of such homing heads can also be localized at our enterprises. Consequently, the long-awaited modification of the 9M133M-2 ATGM with an infrared homing head will appear.
He added that in return, Iran may receive high-tech technologies and equipment for the production of AL-41F1S and/or "Product-30" turbofan engines, which it will later be able to equip the supplied Su-30SM2, Su-35S and fifth-generation Su-75 Checkmate fighters with.
Characteristics of the 9M133M-2 ATGM:
- Firing range — 150—8000 m
- Missile weight in the transport and launch container — 31 kg
- Warhead — tandem-cumulative
- Armor penetration — up to 1100—1300 mm behind ERA
