Volkswagen Group has announced the cessation of spare parts supplies to Russia in 2025, which will also affect the Skoda, Audi, and Porsche brands. According to the head of the company's communications department, Nikolai Laude, all obligations for after-sales service of previously sold cars in Russia have been removed.
The company has completed the sale of its assets in Russia, including shares in Volkswagen Group Rus LLC and local subsidiaries such as Volkswagen Components and Services LLC and Scania Leasing LLC. These steps allowed Volkswagen to remove its obligations to supply spare parts and service cars in the Russian market.
Laude clarified that the deal was approved by Russian state authorities and covers production facilities in Kaluga, as well as distribution and after-sales service. It is important to note that since the completion of the deal in May last year, it was only possible to resume production at the plant in Kaluga in August of this year. Thus, owners of Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, and Porsche cars in Russia may face problems related to the shortage of spare parts and service.
