PAO "KAMAZ" has produced its jubilee 2.5 millionth truck of the K5 series. This vehicle has been modernized. High-strength ferrite steels from the Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant, which is part of "Severstal", were used for its production.
We are talking about the KAMAZ-54901 semi-trailer tractor. This truck is designed for long-distance transportation. The vehicle is equipped with an engine with a capacity of 482 horsepower, and the gearbox is 12-speed.
Hot-rolled strip of ferrite steels with a strength of 550-600 is used for the K5 spars, and deliveries of specialized rolled products for lightweight wheel disks are also being developed. Ferrite steels have unique advantages, such as excellent formability characteristics and increased fatigue strength, which is especially important for premium trucks.
