The FPV drone "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" ("KVN"), which is used on the front lines, provides high-quality images. The features of the device were named by Maxim Kondratyev, founder of the International Training Center for Unmanned Aviation.
According to him, a multirotor-type drone can become the basis for such a drone. The main feature of the "KVN" is a coil with optical fiber for data transmission.
The fiber optic cable provides not only protection against enemy electronic warfare equipment, but also high-quality images on the operator's terminal, which increases controllability.
At the same time, a wired drone requires special operator skills, who must avoid tangling the cable. Usually, the range of the "KVN" is several kilometers. To increase the range, it is necessary to increase the mass of the coil and lengthen the cable by reducing the weight of the payload.
Earlier, Rostec announced the invulnerability of the "Product 305" missile to enemy electronic warfare on the front line. It always flies exactly where the helicopter carrier crew directs it.
