Rare footage has emerged of the BMD-4M with the "Bakhcha-U" combat module, an anti-cumulative-anti-drone visor, and additional anti-cumulative screens on the hull. They increased the combat weight of the vehicle from 13.5 to 15.5 tons.
Sets of such improvised protection are often seen on BMP-3Ms. A more relevant solution could be equipping the BMD-4M with 4S24 "Relikt" and "Kaktus" ERA kits, according to military expert Evgeny Damansev.
BMD-4Ms are equipped with "Bakhcha-U" combat modules from the Tula KBP, based on 100-mm rifled low-ballistics 2A70 guns with a firing range of OFS ZOF70 up to 6.6 km and 9M117M1-3 "Arkan" ATGMs up to 5 km.
The "Bakhcha-U" combat modules are also equipped with 30-mm AP 2A42 and "Sodema" multi-channel gunner sights with an effective detection range for a "tank" type target at night of up to 3.7 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Product 305" has been modernized. Now the missile flies a distance of more than 20 km.
