KMZ development is being installed on Afalina boats

The Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), a military-industrial holding, has developed the KMZJET-295 waterjet for small vessels to replace the Finnish Alamarin Jet units. Following testing, the company began mass production of waterjets and has produced approximately 100 units.

According to Danilenko, the KMZ propulsion system can pull a boat onto the shore or launch it back into the water. The KMZJET-295 can also be operated in marshy areas.

The new waterjets are being installed on the Russian Afalina boat, which is used by security forces, EMERCOM employees, and the National Guard. Previously, Finnish Alamarin Jet propulsion systems were installed on small vessels, but now they are not supplied to Russia due to Western sanctions.

Danilenko noted that production of the KMZJET-295 is planned to triple in 2025. Such propulsion systems will be installed on unmanned boats.
