The outdated French fourth-generation fighter Dassault Mirage 2000, when combined with modern weapons and properly selected tactics, can be effective in aerial combat. However, Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems pose a serious threat to them, writes Eurasian Times.
Despite its outdated design, when equipped with modern weapons, the Mirage 2000 can still perform combat missions even in the presence of advanced Russian air defense systems.
Russia uses powerful S-400 and S-300 SAMs, so survivability becomes the top priority for the pilot of any Western aircraft.
The Mirage 2000 can carry the Spice 2000 high-precision guided bomb. This munition allows strikes on targets at a distance without entering the S-400 engagement zone. With this in mind, the pilot of the French fighter should use a "hit and run" strategy.
