VTB has become the first Russian bank to launch a technology for self-unlocking a mobile application. Now, users can restore access to their personal account by attaching a bank card with an NFC module to their smartphone. This innovation was made possible by the VTB team and greatly simplifies the process, especially in the event of a block due to suspected fraud.
According to Georgy Gorshkov, Deputy President and Chairman of the VTB Board, the user only needs to select the \"unlock via NFC\" option in the VTB Online application and attach the card to a smartphone running Android OS version 6.0 or later. After reading the card, the client will be able to log in and return to using the mobile bank in just a few minutes.
Gorshkov noted that this technology avoids the need to go to a bank office to unlock, which can be inconvenient, especially when it comes to possible financial losses. He also announced that the launch of the unlock function via selfie for iOS device users is planned in the near future.
