Pilot Taskaev: the fifth-generation carrier-based aircraft needs a good radar

The Russian fifth-generation carrier-based aircraft needs sufficient flight range and a good radar station. These qualities were identified by test pilot Roman Taskaev.

According to him, in Russia, naval aviation developed later than in the USA. In particular, the Soviet Yak-38 vertical take-off and landing attack aircraft had a flight range of about 10 km, which is not enough for a modern aircraft carrier.

Now we need an aircraft that would fly far and have a good radar. An electronic warfare aircraft should work in conjunction with it. We, of course, have design and engineering capabilities that would allow this area of aviation to be developed. With such extensive sea borders as Russia has, naval aviation is extremely in demand and important.
