The Russian Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system demonstrates high efficiency in combat. Its modernized version features enhanced tactical and technical characteristics in terms of accuracy and speed of missile application against moving and stationary targets.
The flight trajectory has also been changed. At the initial stage, the Iskander-M is capable of flying at an altitude of about 50 km, which is inaccessible to most air defense systems, explained military expert Alexei Leonkov.
Maneuvering in the area, the Iskander-M attacks the target at hypersonic speed and performs anti-aircraft maneuvers. The modernization also touched upon the missile's defense system, which includes six electronic warfare decoys that are fired to confuse the missile defense system.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the arsenal of the Russian Armed Forces was replenished with a captured American vehicle М88А2 Hercules.
