The domestic Lada Granta has become one of the five best-selling new sedans in the world. First place went to the Toyota Corolla, second place went to the Honda Civic, and third place went to the Hyundai Elantra. The Nissan Sentra slightly outperformed the Russian sedan.
Sixth place went to the Volkswagen Sagitar (Jetta), seventh to the Audi A3. The Volkswagen Golf was eighth, followed by the BYD Destroyer 05 and Maruti Baleno.
In a study by the consulting company Focus2Move, experts considered cars with a length of no more than 4.5 meters. At the same time, total global sales for each model line were taken into account. Crossovers were not included in the study.
Earlier, Avtostat presented a ranking of the most popular brands of new passenger cars in the mass segment in Russia. The leader of the list was expectedly the Russian brand Lada, followed by the Chinese brands Haval, Chery and Geely.
