TsNIITOCHMASH (part of the Kalashnikov concern) has certified new "service" "Olimp-D" cartridges in 12/70 and 12/76 calibers, which began production in July 2024.
The basic version of the cartridges is intended for civilian use in hunting and sports, while the modernized "service" version is for more serious tasks. The suitability of "Olimp-D" for their performance was confirmed at the National Certification and Testing Center for Civil and Service Weapons.
The new "Olimp-D" service cartridge is intended for use by law enforcement agencies, private security companies, departmental security units, and other organizations that use service smoothbore long-barreled firearms in their activities. Service cartridges are characterized by high accuracy and stable grouping. In addition, they can be loaded with shot of various sizes No. 1–10 at the request of the customer. Currently, the institute is preparing the first batch of these cartridges for shipment.
"Olimp-D" cartridges are made using the latest materials, high-quality gunpowder, and an innovative primer composition. This eliminates the risk of cartridge case rupture and reduces barrel fouling and wear. They have high accuracy and even shot distribution at temperatures from -20℃ to +50℃.
